Originally, Enzo Ferrari never set out to produce automotive vehicles, he formed Cruder Ferrari which was a sponsorship for up coming racing drivers, the headquarters were based in Modena, Italy. Enzo took part in various races using Alfa Romeo's until 1939, he was then promoted to head of the Alpha racing team. However Enzo decided to persue his own dream, by opening his own automotive company, Enzo always focused on the performance of the cars he build, probably because racing was his passion, and performance was, and still is the most important aspect of races.
The first Ferrari car to be produced was the Ferrari 125 S, this car was made in
1947 and had a 1.5 liter petrol engine. Enzo sold the cars and used to income to help support the Scuderia. Although Enzo's Ferrari 125 S was a popular car, is was purchased more for its styling, than the cars performance. A different car from a different automotive company exceeded the performance of the car eventually.
Ferrari road cars are now know for their looks, and also there amazing performance, which was the aspect Enzo was always interested within. As of day, the cars are owned usually by rich people. Over the years, Ferrari hired some of the most talented designers to design their cars, this included designers such as Bertone, Ghia and Touring.
